In spite of the early rain this Fourth of July, the Exchange Club set out flags to honor our country’s independence. Our two newest members, Jennifer Berthiaume and Sophia Dookran, joined flag team veterans Marv Williams and Robert Davidson in setting up the flags. Since it was already raining and more rain had been predicted, the team decided to set up a field of 12 flags. Even with the smaller set of flags, they were beautiful as they waved in the wind.

In case you missed them, the flags will be set up again for Labor Day, on September 5. Drive by City Hall and take a look. Feel free to stop and take pictures, as well.

The Exchange Club of Murphy is Murphy’s only locally-based service fraternity. Our programs include Americanism, Youth Programs and Community Service. The Murphy club is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year.
